Barolo Docg Ciabot Mentin Ginestra 1998 Domenico Clerico

The “Ciabot” is located in the municipality of Monforte d’Alba and is a part of the Ginestra vineyard. The soil is rich in limestone and clay and the proximity to Serralunga seems to give the wines its own balsamic tones and the same minute but pleasantly hard tannins, typical of the crus of this municipality. This ’98 shows a garnet color with a consistent but a little dark shade. On the nose we have a wine of great complexity, with the same characteristics typical of Clerico’s “Ciabot” but decidedly “warmer” in tone. Mineral and balsamic expression is also present but much more peaceful in expressive terms. In the mouth it is very enveloping, it expresses itself with a rich character. The tannin is present, lively and well integrated into the wine.
